Infographic ‘How to make your school inclusive’
This guide is born from the work of the collective ‘Students for Inclusion’ who dedicated sessions to reflect on how their schools function and to think of proposals to make them more inclusive, always starting from their own voices and demands.
It is supported by:

- Youth Participatory Action Research
These didactic guides have as theirobjectiveto promote the implementation of collaborative projects that connect classroom activities with what happens outside the school grounds.
Steps
- Create a diverse group
- Build a group of students interested in improving the inclusion and equity of the school.
- Find allies who will allow us to start thinking about the school together.
- Include the voices of the entire community.
- Involve the institution
- Energize the process so that the rest of the students can get involved in the process, participating in various ways.
- Present it to the management team.
- That other members of the school community can participate: families, parent-teacher association.
- Examine the school
- Transfer group conversations to the entire school community.
- Contribute to enabling the rest of the students to share their experiences at school, as well as their potential proposals for improving school life.
- Organize what the community has said
- Try to understand the information that has been gathered.
- It is about summarizing it into analysis and possible improvement proposals.
- Feedback to the community and decision-making
- When reaching conclusions, they will have to be communicated.
- The rest of the students and the school community will have to come together again to create proposals and make decisions.
- Take note of the proposals; the initiatives to be carried out will emerge from them.
- Develop actions and evaluate them
- Once you decide what you are going to try to change, carry it out.
- Evaluate the action and people’s feelings.
- Celebrate with the community, reporting on achievements and projecting new challenges
- Celebrate the work done.
