The people and groupswho promote this initiative firmly believe in the need to transform and improve the Spanish education system from an inclusive perspective. We are convinced that, in this way, we contribute to the development of a more equitable, fairer, and therefore more democratic society.

We sharethe basic moral principle of considering that all human beings are equal in dignity and rights, regardless of their differences regarding gender, ability, beliefs, social strata, or any other. After all, we consider that these differential characteristics constitute the richness of human diversity upon which plural societies are configured.

We affirmthat this position in favor of inclusive education is based on a broad body of international norms, conventions, and treaties. These, in turn, constitute an International Code of Human Rights, giving legitimacy and legal backing to the aspirations that mobilize us to achieve deeper and more sustainable progress in inclusive education.

We recallthat the Spanish Constitution, according to its article 96.1, obliges international treaties ratified by Spain in the field of human rights to become part of its legal system. Due to their nature as superior regulation, these treaties therefore require that the lower regulation (Laws, regulations, or other legal provisions) be adapted to what they establish.

Sabemos, ademais, que o Sistema de Nações Unidas estabeleceu como um dos principais Objetivos para o Desenvolvimento Sustentável, no marco da Agenda 2030 (ODS4), o compromisso ineludível para todos os estados de avançar, sem demora, para o desenvolvimento de sistemas educativos de qualidades regidos pela equidade e inclusão.

Somos conscientes de que tal propósito educativo e social supõe necessariamente uma transformação profunda e sistemática dos sistemas educativos vigentes, por intermédio de um processo que deve se fazer sustentável no tempo e que requer determinação, vontade e recursos afetivos, mas não pode esperar mais, pois a vida escolar e o futuro de muitas crianças que hoje vivem em situação de exclusão está em jogo, não aceitando demoras.

Fundamentamo-nos em um amplo corpus de conhecimentos e pesquisas neste âmbito, realizadas com o mais alto nível e rigor, que defendem que não somente é justo e necessário, como também possível e factível o desenvolvimento de culturas, políticas e práticas escolares inclusivas. Opomo-nos, portanto, a que tudo isso fique obscurecido por falsas crenças, mitos, mal-entendidos, trotes e mentiras.

Exigimos um planejamento coerente a curo, médio e longo prazo, acompanhado de uma inversão (?) sustentável e suficiente para gerar as capacidades adequadas no sistema e nos docentes de todos os níveis do ensino. Este planejamento e inversão permitirá criar e construir culturas, políticas e práticas escolares que encarnem os valores de igualdade, respeito à diversidade e desenvolvimento da liberdade, de forma que todo o alunado, sem eufemismo, possa compartilhar um espaço comum de aprendizagem e participação social, onde se sintam e façam parte do grupo de meninos e meninas de seus bairros, cidades ou entornos em que são aceitos e reconhecidos pelo que são.

We are convinced that we are right, that legality and ethics are on our side, and that ethics are concerned with the care, full life, and well-being of everyone, therefore, we declare:

We want Inclusive Education and we will support any person and group willing to create it, because in doing so we advance our humanity and this will be the best legacy for our children, for future generations, and to help achieve a dignified life in society for all people, a sustainable one, and one worth living.
